Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is the latest issue from the never ending spring of Buzz Words. What is it, and what does it really mean?
That would depend on precisely who you are talking to at the moment.
In it's simplest terms, it is simply using the Internet or network as a business tool.

Whether you are using chat or a collaboration software to keep workgroups in touch.
Receiving orders from your road warriors and getting the latest updates and production figures to them.
Keeping a consolidated inventory of a number of warehouses in several different cities.
Or using a VPN to share applications and data with the home office in Boston.
It's ALL Cloud Computing.
Some proponents refer to cloud computing as simply as an updated version of utility computing, basically virtual servers available over the Internet or services including storage, database, information, process integration.
Others are offering cloud-based services, from full-blown applications to infrastructure providers, and SaaS (software as a service) providers.

According to a paper published by the IEEE on Internet Computing.
"Cloud Computing is a paradigm in which information is permanently stored in servers on the Internet and cached temporarily on clients that include computers, laptops, handhelds, sensors, etc."
We can also add SmartPhones, PDA's, tablets (such as iPad), to that list as well.
